Vitgem publishes guides about vitamins, minerals and botanical supplements for a UK audience. Because this is health-adjacent information, we think you deserve to know exactly how it is produced, who stands behind it, and what we will not do. This page is that answer.
Who writes our articles
Our articles are written and reviewed by the Vitgem Nutrition Team, working with the same people who specify our formulations. We publish under a team byline rather than inventing a single named expert. We would rather be accurate about who wrote something than decorate an article with credentials that do not reflect how the work was actually done.
Nothing on this site is medical advice. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, taking prescription medication, or managing a health condition, speak to your GP or pharmacist before starting any supplement.
Where our facts come from
Every factual claim about nutrition, dosage or UK law is traced back to a primary source. In order of preference we use:
- The NHS and the UK Scientific Advisory Committee on Nutrition (SACN)
- The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and the GB Nutrition and Health Claims Register
- The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) for anything touching medicines law
- Peer-reviewed research, with a preference for systematic reviews and randomised controlled trials over single small studies
Every article carries a numbered reference list, and each sourced claim in the text is linked to its reference with an inline marker. If a claim has no reference, treat it as our opinion rather than as evidence.
What we will not claim
Vitgem products are food supplements, not medicines. Under UK food law we do not state or imply that any product prevents, treats or cures a disease, and we hold our articles to the same standard. Where we describe what a nutrient does, we stay within the authorised wording of the GB Nutrition and Health Claims Register.
We also avoid presenting a promising early study as settled science. Where the evidence is thin, mixed or preliminary, the article says so plainly, even when a more confident sentence would sell more product.
How we keep articles current
Nutrition guidance and UK regulation both change. Each article shows its publication date and, where it has been revised, the date it was last reviewed. We re-check articles when the underlying guidance changes, when a reader flags a problem, and on a routine schedule for our most-read guides. Substantive corrections are made in the article itself rather than quietly deleted.
Commercial independence
We sell gummy vitamins, and our articles link to our products where relevant. We do not accept payment from other brands to appear in our content, and we do not run affiliate links. When an article discusses a category we sell into, the recommendation is still bounded by the evidence: if the research does not support a product type, we say so.
Corrections and contact
If you spot an error, an out-of-date reference or a claim that reads as overstated, tell us at hello@vitgem.co.uk and we will review it. Corrections that change the meaning of an article are noted on the page.
